My soul thirsts for the living God.
When shall I come and meet with Him?
How I would go to the house of God
With shouts of joy and songs of praise!

Why are you cast down, O my soul,
And why are you in turmoil within?
Hope in God for I shall praise Him,
My salvation and my God.
By day the Lord pours His steadfast love.
At night His song is always near.
I say to God, "Why do I go mourning?
Am I alone afar from You?"
